Projects

Manel González-Piñero holds a PhD in Economics and an MBA (University of Barcelona), as well as a degree in Business Administration and Management and English Philology (UB).

He is Director of Innovation at the Centre for Biomedical Engineering Research (CREB) at the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC) and Director of Strategy at XartecSALUT. He is also a professor of Economics and Innovation at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Barcelona (UB) and at ESMUC (Catalonia College of Music).

He is the academic co-director of the Summer School in Management of Creativity (HEC Montreal and University of Barcelona). He teaches and collaborates on projects related to innovation and organizational culture.

He collaborates on projects linked to cultural and creative companies with governments, start-ups, and new cultural projects.

He has worked in the business development area of the Biotechnology Research Centre of the National Research Council of Canada (Montreal, Canada) and at the University of Technology Sydney (Sydney, Australia), as well as a researcher at Inland Norway University (Lillehammer, Norway) and Kunsskapsverket – Nasjonalt Kunnskapssenter for kulturelle næringer.

Teaching

He is a professor of Economics and Innovation at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Barcelona (UB), where he teaches classes in the Master’s Degree in Cultural Management and the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication and Cultural Industries. He is also the academic co-director of the Summer School in Management of Creativity (HEC Montreal and University of Barcelona).

At ESMUC (Catalonia College of Music), he teaches Innovation and Project Management in the Master’s Degree in Artistic Management. In the Management Degree, he teaches Innovation Management.

He is also invited to teach at other universities and business schools.
